We’re excited to announce that applications for the 2025-2026 Resident Assistant (RA) positions are open! This is a fantastic opportunity for students who are committed to building strong campus communities, developing leadership skills, and supporting their peers.
Application Details
The online application will be available from Monday, October 28, 2024, at 12:00 Noon EST through Monday, November 25, 2024, at 12:00 Noon EST. Please note that late applications will not be accepted.
How to Apply
To start the application, students must watch informational videos before accessing the application form. They’ll need a resume and a professional reference who can speak to their qualifications for the RA role. Encourage your student to review these requirements early to ensure everything is complete by the deadline!
RA Benefits
Resident Assistants receive:
- A single room or single bedroom in a shared apartment or suite
- A 150-block meal plan per semester
- Their remuneration package listed as a scholarship, which may impact financial aid (contact Financial Aid for details).
Key Responsibilities
RAs are role models on campus, serving as resources and support for their floor residents. They help foster a respectful and inclusive community, assist with problem-solving, complete administrative tasks, and attend mandatory trainings in August and January.

For students needing assistance with their resume or interview preparation, Rutgers’ Career Exploration and Success is available to help. There will also be “Drop-in with Residence Life” sessions for applicants to meet current Residence Life staff, ask questions, and learn more about the RA role:
