What We Do

New Student Orientation (NSO) is an important experience for all first year and transfer students, regardless of academic affiliation or major. At NSO, your student will have the opportunity to become familiar with campus resources and make connections with current students, faculty, and staff before beginning classes.

In addition, our dedicated team of student Orientation Leaders will serve as your student's personal guide, share their experiences and help acclimate your student to Rutgers University-New Brunswick.

The action-packed NSO schedule will include a virtual campus tour excursion, small group activities, a mix and mingle, and sessions covering a range of topics including academics, health and wellness, campus life, and more! Students will also have access to our New Student Orientation Canvas course to help get them acclimated for their time on the banks, Collect information, win prizes, make friends, and get excited about your student beginning their journey as a Scarlet Knight!

All new students are expected to attend an NSO session.
