Each student has their own "address" which can be found through their Student ID and campus they reside in. The four digits used in the address is the last four digits in your child's Student ID

Each campus has its unique address format:

  • Busch: #### BPO Way, Piscataway, NJ 08854
  • Cook: #### CPO Way, New Brunswick, NJ 08901
  • Douglass: #### DPO Way, New Brunswick, NJ 08901
  • Livingston: #### LPO Way, Piscataway, NJ 08854
  • College Ave: #### RPO Way, New Brunswick, NJ 08901

Sample Addresses to Ensure Smooth Delivery

To make sure packages arrive without a hitch, here’s how your student should format their address, depending on their campus:

  • Jane Student, ID 123456789 who lives on the College Ave Campus:

    Jane Student
    6789
    RPO Way
    New Brunswick, NJ 08901
  • John Student, ID 987654321 who lives on Busch Campus:

    John Student
    4321 BPO Way
    Piscataway, NJ 08854

Key Points for Addressing Packages

Make sure the mailing label includes:

  1. Student Name
  2. Campus Address
  3. City, State, Zip

How Will My Student Know They Have a Package?

Rutgers University has a super-handy locker system that makes picking up mail and packages easy and stress-free. Here’s a quick rundown for parents on how it works.

When your student gets mail or a package, they’ll get a notification telling them where to find it.  The notification will give them the location and locker bank number where their package is stored. They can receive these notifications in two ways:

  1. Rutgers Student Package Locker app
  2. Email

This ensures they always know exactly where to go.

Four Easy Ways to Get their Mail or Package

Once they know where their mail or package is, they have four simple options to pick it up:

  1. Remote Unlock via the App
    • If your child is within 5 meters of the locker kiosk, they can open the locker remotely using the app. They just hit the Remote Unlock button, and the app shows them the door number. One click and the door pops open!
  2. Scan the QR Code
    • They can also scan the QR code from the Rutgers Package app using the scanner on the locker door. This will automatically open the locker with their package.
  3. Swipe Their ID Card
    • Another option is to swipe their Rutgers ID card in the card reader at the kiosk. This lets them access any packages linked to their ID. The kiosk will even tell them if they have anything waiting in the mailroom or other locker banks.
  4. Enter the Pin
    • They can use the PIN from the app or email notification. They just punch it into the kiosk screen, and the door with their package opens up.

Additionally, if the mail or package is not picked up from the locker within a week, it may be moved to the desk with an attendant. Your student must then pick up the package while the attendant is there.

Hi Sivaraman,
Packages that do not fit in lockers will be held at the Rutgers post office. Your student will receive an email with the location of where it can be picked up.

If my son comes home for the weekend and I drive him back on Sun, 1st or Mon, 2nd, do I need a pass to park or can I just park in the lot near his campus, take items into his building and stay a bit?
