From the Office of Career Exploration:
We are excited to announce that President Holloway's Rutgers Scarlet Service Internship (RSSI) Program and Rutgers Scarlet Service in Washington, DC (RSS-DC) are currently accepting student applications until November 27. Due to the generosity of our many Scarlet Service donors, these programs provide Rutgers students an opportunity to engage in paid, meaningful public service internships next summer at non-profit and government organizations.

RSSI Program students receive a $5,000 stipend and earn three credits through an asynchronous public service internship course, tuition-free. Students must be able to travel to an internship site in New Jersey, New York City, or the Philadelphia region.

RSS-DC Program students are provided complimentary housing, a $3,800 stipend, and earn three credits through an in-person course, tuition-free. Students must be willing and able to spend the summer living in Washington, DC.

Please Note: There is a joint application process for the Rutgers Scarlet Service Internship (RSSI) Program and the Rutgers Scarlet Service in Washington, DC (RSS-DC). Students can opt to apply for one or both programs.

Interested students should apply by November 27. For more information about RSSI, visit careers.rutgers.edu/rssi or contact rssi@echo.rutgers.edu with any questions. For RSS-DC, visit rssdc.rutgers.edu or email rss-dc@rutgers.edu with any questions.

The experience is only available to current sophomores and juniors (61 - 91 total credits completed by the end of the spring 2024 semester). Students who participated in previous RSSI cohorts are not eligible to re-apply.
