Rutgers Off-Campus Living Info Session
Is your student dreaming of their own place off campus—maybe with a fridge full of snacks and their own kitchen? Wondering how to help them navigate leases, landlords, and laundry? We've got you covered!
Join the Rutgers Off-Campus Living and Community Initiatives office on November 3, 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM for a virtual information session designed just for families. We'll walk you through everything you need to know to support your student as they take this exciting step toward independence.
During this session, you'll learn from Kerri Willson, Senior Associate Dean of Students in the Division of Student Affairs how the Office of Off-Campus Living helps students prepare for independent living by offering:
- Resources and Education on housing searches, legal rights, safety, and respectful community living
- Support for Basic Needs, including food and housing insecurity
- Connections to Faith Communities and interfaith engagement opportunities
- Problem Resolution Services for landlord or roommate issues
- Access to Our Online Rental Directory featuring listings from local landlords and roommate opportunities
Kerri also works closely with students, parents, property owners, New Brunswick city officials, and community leaders to ensure off-campus living is safe, informed, and enriching.
Whether your student is moving off campus soon or considering it in the future, this session will provide valuable tools and insights to help you guide them confidently.
